Thanks so much for everyone entering the great competitions all last week. We had a wonderful lot of books that we have given away – winners will be contacted via email this week. 20 winners in total will get a book each. Thanks to Chronicle BooksKlutzShambhala Publications and Lark Crafts. for providing the books for this wonderful giveaway.

Family outings and excursions



  1. Head to the local woods – make fairy houses out of fallen twigs and leaves, sculptures out of anything, leaf boat races in the brook, bring leaves home to make leaf prints and pictures, make dens and shelters - the list is endless!

  2. Go to the library – make sure you check out your local libraries free performances and holiday programs.

  3. Go to the museum, art gallery or theatre

  4. Go play at the park

  5. Go for a family hike, nature walk, or bike ride.

  6. Go to the zoo

  7. Go for a swim

  8. Visit the botanical gardens

  9. Go to the beach

  10. Visit a farm
